Jock Lennox, Chairman
Jock Lennox holds a Law degree from the University of Edinburgh and in 1980 he qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young LLP, Edinburgh. Jock is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. In 1988 Jock became a partner at Ernst & Young LLP, London, after having held a number of leadership positions in the UK and the United States. Jock was a senior partner at Ernst & Young from 2008 to 2009, leading Ernst & Young relationships with a number of major multinational clients, reporting to and advising the boards on a range of complex audits, financial restructurings and corporate transactions. Jock retired from Ernst & Young in 2009.
In 2010 Jock was appointed to the Board of EnQuest PLC and sits on the Nominations and Remuneration Committees and Chairs the Audit Committee. Jock is a non-executive director of Hill & Smith Holdings plc, Oxford Instruments plc and A&J Mucklow Group plc and sits on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (chairing the qualification board).
Dr Mike Rugg-Gunn, Director
Mike is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and started his career in the Hospitality Industry in a variety of senior roles before qualifying as a Psychologist. He moved to the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency in 1998 as a Senior Psychologist, where he also completed his doctorate. Mike joined Norman Broadbent in 2003, after working for boutique consultancies specialising in the broader areas of Occupational Psychology. When Norman Broadbent acquired HADIL in December 2010, Mike became a Director at HADIL.
Mike has expertise working within Retail, Financial Services, Energy, Construction, Professional Services, Not-for-Profit, Healthcare and the NHS. Within these sectors he specialises in Executive Assessment and Development, Board Development, Talent Management and Corporate Cultural Change. Mike is the author of a number of research articles and is a frequent conference speaker.
Dr Stephen Sloan, Director
Stephen is a Chartered Psychologist whose corporate and consulting career has included: the delivery of organisation, people and change management consulting projects to a range of FTSE250 businesses; an interim line management role managing 30 project consultants; senior management in a “Big Four” consultancy and a consulting and management role within a US commercial Insurance business. His focus has been on the management of top teams, change management, people-related and HR issues.
Over the last five years much of his work has also included strategic business redesign and IT implementation assignments. He has recently completed projects to outsource HR and payroll systems, relocate a large scale manufacturing facility and the transition from a fully own to joint venture status of a national distribution business. Stephen is a Chartered Psychologist and his early career included the directorship of a management consultancy business and internal project positions in telecoms and the US Air Force.
John Evans, Associate
John Evans is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with over 30 years experience as a top level business consultant. Working predominantly at Board level for major UK and international organisations, he is a leading provider of assessment, coaching and OD services. His sector expertise is broad encompassing retail, FMCG, travel and hospitality, financial services, aviation leasing, entertainment and private equity.
John lives in London and Buckinghamshire.
Margaret Kett, Practice Lead - Coaching
Margaret has been at the epicentre of the design and delivery of a number of high-profile organisational transformation programmes, typically in her capacity as an HR professional or in an advisory capacity as an HR consultant. These include the design and delivery of a broad-ranging people-driven change programme at The Football Association and managing the transformation and integration efforts of the TotalFina and Elf Merger. Her expertise has been gained across a breadth of industries as diverse as FMCG, Oil, Sport, Management Consultancy, Telecoms and Insurance.
A qualified coach Margaret has worked with many senior professionals and has been a faculty member of the CIPD/ OCM’s coaching programmes. Margaret joined HADIL in 2011 where she leads the Coaching Practice.
Nina Atkinson, Project Manager
Nina has held a variety of HR positions, most recently with a focus on talent management and senior level assessment. Prior to joining Norman Broadbent, Nina spent three years at Sainsbury’s working in senior executive recruitment, colleague engagement and talent management. She also gained extensive experience within graduate recruitment, with a specific focus on organising and delivering assessment centres across all areas of the business. Nina then moved to a niche consulting firm, Jackson Samuel, consulting in talent management and HR capability to a number of clients, as well as doing senior level recruitment. Some of Nina’s most recent assignments have included team assessment for a telecoms client, role profiling and assessments for an oil and gas client, and assisting on developing a competency framework for a public sector client.
Nina has a BBA (1st Class) in Business Administration from the University of Kent in Canterbury, and an MSc (Merit) in European Policy and Foreign Affairs from the London School of Economics. She is also Level A and B qualified.
